World War II Cruise of Boston Harbor

In commemoration of 77 years since the United States involvement in World War II, join the National Park Service rangers as we to step back in time and learn about the crucial roles Boston Harbor played throughout World War II.

This two and a half hour cruise through Boston Harbor will highlight the Charlestown Navy Yard, the Harbor Islands, and the intricate part the citizens of Boston played in the defense of Boston during these tenuous years.

The cruise will include:

  • National Park Service narration and interpretation of historic highlights such as Charlestown Navy Yard, the South Boston Annex, Army Base, Castle Island, Shipping Lanes, Long Island, Deer Island, the layout of military netting and underwater mines, Gallops Island, Georges Island and Peddocks Island.
  • Vessel will have beverages and snacks available for purchase.

Tours meets at Charlestown Navy Yard Visitor Center at 10:30 am for check in, with a 11:00 am departure. Vessel cannot wait for late attendees.

Tour runs rain or shine. In the case of rough seas, tour will be canceled and refunds will be issued.
