Stewardship Saturday – Tool Sharpening day!
Come join other park stewards to help us maintain our field tools to keep us safe in the field.
Come join park staff and volunteer stewards for maintaining our field tools! We will teach folks how to clean and sharpen our often-used hand clippers and loppers. We can still discuss the ecology, natural history, and cultural significance of landscapes of the Boston Harbor Islands.
Directions: We will be working from our offices at the Charlestown Navy Yard, the GPS address is 21 2nd Ave, Boston MA. We are able to offer free parking at the park- individuals will need to share their vehicle information with park staff in advance for entrance. There are also a variety of public transit options nearby. We will send more information to registrants about parking prior to the event.
Timing: We will start our program at 9 am. We will likely wrap up around lunchtime, depending on how much we complete!
What to wear: We plan to work outside on picnic tables if the weather allows, so please still wear outdoor weather appropriate clothes. If you have nimble work gloves, feel free to bring them- otherwise we will provide gloves.
What to bring: Please bring a snack and reusable water bottle. Cleaning and sharpening tools, gloves, and other PPE will be provided.
Event will run rain or shine, we will either be outdoors at picnic tables or indoors a conference room.
