Due to circumstances beyond our control and an abundance of caution the Friends of the Boston Harbor Islands Board of Directors voted to cancel the New Year’s Day trip to Thompson Island. We look forward to seeing you in the Spring. A full refund will be issued to Brown Paper Tickets holders.

Sponsored by Friends of the Boston Harbor Islands, this annual cruise is the best way to start the New Year! Visit Thompson Island with its meadows, forests, beaches and 40 acre salt marsh.
Travel on MV Freedom which has three decks and is heated. The trip will depart at 12:00 p.m. sharp and return to the dock at 4:00p.m. Boarding begins at 11:30a.m.
Departs Mass Bay Lines, Rowes Wharf, Boston on the MV Freedom. MBL is behind the Boston Harbor Hotel. Check-in with the FBHI volunteers in the ferry terminal to show proof of Covid vaccination and ID. No exceptions.
Tickets can be purchased on the day of the trip (Cash only please).
What to expect:
- PROOF OF COVID VACCINATION AND ID REQUIRED AT CHECK-IN. NO EXCEPTIONS
- Pack a picnic. There is no food sold on the boat or the island.
- There will be a building open for warmup space.
- No pets or alcohol per Island & Park policy
The trip goes rain or shine. If the captain/boat company cancel the trip due to weather conditions Brown Paper Tickets will issue a refund.
