How is my story a part of American history?
Declaration Reclamation is a series of workshops and gatherings that explores this question alongside the American Repertory Theater’s production of 1776.
To honor our collective histories and to come together in celebration of a reimagined future, Declaration Reclamation will conclude with Celebrating Our Future, an in-person, outdoor gathering featuring performance, food, and ritual for participants of all ages with the beautiful backdrop of Spectacle Island!

About the Network for Arts Administrators of Color (ArtsBoston): In 2016, ArtsBoston established The Network for Arts Administrators of Color (NAACBoston) to enhance the visibility of professionals of color in Greater Boston’s arts and culture sector, as well as widen the leadership pipeline and highlight opportunities for professional and personal growth in the field. NAACBoston offers participants the opportunity to connect, network, and share learnings with the intent to empower, elevate, and retain talented professionals of color in the sector. The creation of this network reflects the importance of visibility for professionals of color, and the value that diverse perspectives contribute to an enhanced workforce and culture. NAACBoston is part of ArtsBoston’s ongoing initiative to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion in the arts and culture sector.
About AfroDesiaCity: AfroDesiaCity has been a Boston-based regional event and consulting company for more than 10 years, specializing in live entertainment, professional networking, and other value-added community events. They partner directly with emerging artists and professionals of diverse backgrounds to elevate voices and support organizations in producing soulful events, as well as creative and professional opportunities. AfroDesiaCity serves Boston’s greater metropolitan area and the East Coast region, offering artists management, event production, and community and cultural activation.
Innovation Islands is a mini grant program, enabling organizations from communities in and around Boston to curate events on the Boston Harbor Islands. It is presented by the National Park Service, the Department of Conservation and Recreation, and Boston Harbor Now as part of the commemoration of the Boston Harbor Islands’ 25th anniversary as a National Park and 50th anniversary as a State Park.
