Stewardship Saturday at Calf Island
Come join park staff for a special volunteer day as we pick up trash and other marine debris on Calf Island! We will discuss the ecology, natural history, and cultural significance of landscapes in the park as we work to improve habitat by removing trash washed ashore. This event is in partnership with MA Department of Conservation and Recreation, Boston Harbor Now, and the Center for Coastal Studies with support from the NOAA Marine Debris Program and the US Fish and Wildlife Service.
Registration is required for these events.
- This is a special event, and capacity is limited. Please register if you plan to join us, but let us know if you need to cancel your registration as the event draws near.
- Terrain on Calf Island is uneven with very little established trails.
- Travel for this event will be on a large landing craft vessel with full exposure to the elements. Due to logistics of the day, significant time will be spent in transit to and from the island, with travel time starting at 9a and returning at 4p.
