Reserve a NEW Peddocks Island yurt!
We are taking reservations for summer tent campsites at Bumpkin, Grape, Lovells, and Peddocks Island. We are also taking reservations for the new yurt sites at Peddocks Island-they include electricity, water, and cots for up to six! Please visit Reserve America to find available sites.
Don't miss the boat...
Did you let the summer go by without a trip to the islands? Or miss an opportunity to visit again? No worries, you can still catch a ferry through October 8. After that, stay tuned for special cruises and opportunities to get out to the islands during fall and winter. Just keep watch on the park calendar for upcoming programs and events. Before you know it, spring will have sprung, and ferries will start their regular schedule again. We hope to see you out there soon!

The park received some amazing photos, it is hard to pick a winner, and we could use your help. Five finalists await the results of the contest, go to the park's Facebook page and click like on the photo you like best. Don't forget to look at all the submissions. 8th Annual Regatta - is your boat registered?
Boston Harbor Island Alliance invites you to sail in the 8th Annual Regatta, the largest race in Boston Harbor. Online registration is open until September 24.
Boston Harbor Island Alliance Announces First Annual Photo Contest
This summer, Boston Harbor Island Alliance invites visitors to submit a photo that captures something special about the islands. Whether it's the islands' natural beauty, the opportunity to view wildlife, the enjoyment of recreation and community activities, or the rich history to be discovered, each of us has a reason we are drawn to the islands. Show us yours!
1) Submit a Photo: e-mail your photo to lcook@islandalliance.org along with your name, contact information and the location where the photo was taken.
2) Look, Like, & Share: Watch the contest unfold at www.flickr.com/photos/bostonharborislands.
3) Five finalists will be featured on our Facebook page and the people will vote.
Submissions will be accepted beginning July 1st until Labor Day. Please, one entry per photographer.

During the summer season, park ferries depart frequently from Long Wharf, Boston; Fore River Shipyard in Quincy; Hingham Shipyard; and Pemberton Point, Hull. We suggest arriving at the dock at least 30 minutes prior to departure to allow time for ticketing and boarding. Regular ferry fees apply.

1812 Special Schedule -- June 30-July 5
Ahoy! Commemorate the bicentennial of the War of 1812 with the Boston Harbor Islands national park area.
Don’t miss the opportunity to take a tour of the Tall and naval ships and learn more about the Boston Harbor Islands! There will be basic service to the islands, running on a modified schedule, but Boston's Best Cruises is also offering the following trips:
Regular service to the Harbor Islands will be modified during the Bicentennial Celebration of the War of 1812, June 30-July 5.
Ferries are running to Georges and Spectacle Islands. Check the spring ferry schedule to plan your trip.
Take a boat cruise out to Spectacle Island. Join rangers for fun activities-Snow Shoeing, Cross-Country Skiing (if we have snow!) Hiking, Junior Ranger Fun, or just roaming the island. Bring your own equipment and a pack lunch-chowder and chili will be available for sale on the boat.
