How to Buy a Ticket

Purchase your tickets on line if you are visiting Georges or Spectacle Island and leaving from Boston. Hit the "Boston's Best Cruises Tickets" button on the right. Choose your island destination, date you will visit, and quantity of tickets. Don't forget to book your return! Print out your tickets at home and board the boat.

For trips to Georges or Spectacle Islands the ticket machines at Boston Harbor Islands Pavilion to purchase your tickets with a credit or debit card. You may also call Boston’s Best Cruises (see More below) or buy your ticket at the company’s ticket booths at Long Wharf–North in Boston and Fore River Shipyard in Quincy.

If leaving from Hingham or Hull, purchase your ticket on-board the ferry. Cash or credit card

Likewise, purchase tickets on the boat en route to Thompson Island from South Boston (EDIC Pier). Cash only.

You may transfer from the Georges Island to the Hingham Connector (to visit Peddocks, Grape, and Bumpkin Island) OR to the Peddocks Connector (to visit Peddocks and Lovells Island).  

Tickets are issued and fares collected by Boston’s Best Cruises for the Boston, Quincy, and Hingham Routes. Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center collects fares for the South Boston (EDIC) Route.

Passenger Ferry Costs

Round trip tickets are sold through Boston's Best Cruises from Boston Long Wharf-North, Hingham Shipyard, Hull Pemberton Point, and Quincy Shipyard.  Discounts are available for children, seniors, active military personnel, groups of 10 or more and advanced purchase online.  To access Thompson Island from South Boston's EDIC Pier, please pay onboard the Outward Bound.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I park near Long Wharf North in Boston?

There are many private lots available, with separate weekend and weekday rates.  

For Weekends:  International Place Parking (1 International Place) has discount parking:  $9.00, then pick up a $2.00 discount voucher at the Pavilion or Ferry Center.  From this location, take a left onto the Greenway and walk 3-4 minutes to the Boston Harbor Islands Pavilion.  International Place is a secure facility, so expect to show your ID.  Other private lots offer weekend discounted rates of $10 to $15.

For Weekdays:  We recommend public transit.  Most private lots are over $25.  Lewis Wharf at 28 Atlantic Ave. in the North End is a 5 minute walk.  It has limited space, but at $15 is very inexpensive.
