Thompson Island is all about groups, whether they’re building teams, testing their limits, or attending a wedding, conference, or other event. Here you’ll find Thompson Island Outward Bound, a non-profit educational organization that puts people in fun, challenging situations to help develop teamwork, compassion, and confidence. Activities include sailing, ropes courses, leadership training, and environmental exploration. Thompson Island Conference Center offers catered clambakes, company outings, parties, weddings, and meetings.

Individuals may visit Thompson Island on summer Sundays. Explore on your own, take a tour into the salt marshes or tour with a guide to learn about history of the island. Boats leave from the EDIC Dock in South Boston (cash fare only), as well as from Spectacle Island.
